What You’ll Be Doing
You are skilled in developing models, knowledgeable in operations research (OR), and interested in building intelligent space systems to modernize satellites' operations. In this role, you should be highly analytical with a knack for analysis, math and statistics. We want to see a passion for mathematical problem solving and research. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in operations research, mathematics, and/or computer science. You should have experience with optimization techniques, such as linear programming, integer programming, and dynamic programming, as well as experience with developing and applying simulation models. You must be comfortable taking ideas from theory into deployment. As a ML/AI Engineer you will also:
Develop and implement mathematical models and algorithms to solve complex business problems
Utilize optimization techniques such as linear programming, integer programming, and dynamic programming
Develop and apply simulation models
Develop and refine optimization models that enhance efficiency and effectiveness of satellite operations
Explore and visualize aerospace simulation data to support algorithm development
Building tools to automate data collection and analysis
Collaborate with aerospace domain experts, and software developers to understand customer needs
What You Will Need
US Citizenship, Permanent Resident (Green) Card
1+ years of professional experience as a Machine Learning Engineer, AI Engineer, Applied Scientist, or similar role
Bachelor’s, Master’s degree, or Ph.D. in a relevant field: Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Operations Research, Computational Physics, Computer Science, Engineering, etc
Experience developing and implementing large scale optimization models using linear programming, mixed Integer programming and heuristics
Proficiency with Python or Rust and data science libraries such as Numpy, and Pandas.
Familiarity with a machine learning framework, such as TensorFlow, Keras, PyTorch or similar
Basic knowledge of software development principles and architecture
Proficiency in Jupyter Notebook or similar for development, testing and communicating results
Proficiency with Linux development environment
Ability to communicate complex data in a simple, actionable way
Ability to work in a team and work collaboratively on complex tasks
Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills
Salary
$140,000 - $170,000
